Banjul Highlights | Take in some of the most famous sights of our capital city and visit those places where you wish you could go but don’t quite know how to get to. We take pleasure in visiting a local school, the colourful and busy market and the crocodile pool. Half day. |
Gambia Animals | We will
visit the traditional town of Bakau to see 'Charlie' at the crocodile
pool and tour around the Abuko Nature Reserve tour with it's 300 species
of bird, 4 types of monkey, porcupines, rodents and snakes. A truly
exciting day! |
Jinack Island |
Experience
the Gambian way of life up-close on Jinack Island. The community is
based on a small island between Barras (5 Km away) and Senegal Point.
Here, farms grow cannabis and coconuts but the way of life is based
around fishing. We will visit the village schools and spend some time
with a local family within a compound. A must! Full day.

South Gambia Safari | An 'off
the beaten track' adventure uncovering the Gambian way of life. Explore
the surrounding area, visit a crocodile pool, a local school, visit
Lamin Lodge to see the women harvesting and preparing oysters. Take a
canoe ride in the mangroves, visit a wood craft market, see the
villagers prepare fish the local way and have lunch on a beautiful
beach. Full day. |
By day to Makasutu | A lovely day in the holy forest. A journey by canoe and on foot through the secret forest. Watch
out for the small apes! A great chance for some
pictures, souvenirs and an interesting day out. Full or half day. |
Janjangbureh | Formerly called
Georgetown this is one of the oldest towns in Gambia it is situated on
the island of Janjangbureh which still has a relic of Gambia a
colonial past. Visit the mysterious wash stone circles, believed to
be a burial ground in the past and then a journey by river from to
Janjangbureh where hippos can be seen wallowing in the river. One night. |
Three In One Tour | ABUKO Nature Reserve
here you will see many different animals, Lamin lodge see the women
working with the oysters. Take a peaceful canoe ride and enjoy
tranquillity. Serrekunda the famous Serrekunda Market. Half day. |

Gambia Reptile Farm | This trip takes us towards the southern border with Senegal.
The Farm is actually a research centre seeking to learn more about
reptiles. You will be able to see snakes, chameleons, turtles,
lizards among many other animals. Why not have your photo taken with
a python (turtles available for the less squeamish)! Full day. |
Roots Trip & | Explore some of the colonial history of
The Gambia and the inspiration for the film “Roots”. Inevitably,
this includes the slave trade and tensions between the British and
the French. We will visit the villages of Albreda and Juffreh and
the ancestral home of the Kinteh family, the most famous African
slave. We will also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of James
Island, named after James II of England and located in the middle
of the Gambia River. Full day. |
Fishing Trips | This is
a popular tour for small groups, fishing in the creeks of the Gambia
river. A typical day's catch is between 10 and 18 species. Tackle and
bait are included with a light spinning
rod and fixed spool reels. Full day. |
Lazy River Day | This is
MUST. A lazy
day on board a Gambian riverboat. Relax as you make your way
through the mangroves and spot the oysters growing on the waterline. We
stop for swimming and lunch. This is also a good trip for fishing. Half
day. |
Senegal Tour | The 2000 hectare Fathala
Game Reserve, in south-western Senegal, is just 50 km from Banjul. During
your visit you will ride among herds of antelopes (including the rare
Western Giant Eland), giraffes, rhinos and buffaloes. You will also
be able to see families of monkeys in the mahogany trees. We
normally spend 2 to 3 hours within the Reserve. Full day, and DON’T
forget your Passport! |
